Another handle KP Malik asserted, “Bhupen Borah’s Great Confession! An Honest Leader in Dishonest Politics. Former Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah has boldly admitted on camera that he took 50 crore rupees from CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to fulfill his father’s dream. He has become the first honest Indian leader to shamelessly accept taking money in broad daylight. Most leaders take the money and then deny it. Such honesty? This is Olympic gold in shamelessness. In today’s era, the height of shamelessness is this: loot, confess, and get applause! And both the giver and the taker—enjoy the fun. Because agencies are for the opposition, but for those in power, they’re just a washing machine.” (Archived link)

In response, Bora holds Gaurav Gogoi responsible for his exit from Congress. Addressing the bribery allegation, he adds that if the BJP offers were to offer him a bribe of ₹50 crore, he would accept it on camera and use the money to fulfill his father’s dream of building a stadium.
