A graphic image bearing the watermark of News29 is going viral on social media, claiming that in the Murshidabad violence, 150 accused individuals recorded their statements in Hindi rather than Bengali. The post suggests that the rioters were from neighboring Hindi-speaking states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, and alleges that the violence against Hindus was orchestrated in these states.
The incident occurred after the passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament, following which Muslim-majority Murshidabad witnessed riots and targeted violence against the Hindu community resulting in the death of three Hindus, injuries to several others, and the displacement of hundreds.
Ravish Kumar Parody shared the graphic image claiming, ‘Did you understand anything? Understand the real game. Rest of you all are intelligent.’

Additional Director General of Police (South Bengal), Supratim Sarkar, announced that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) had been formed under the leadership of Syed Waquar Raza, DIG of the Murshidabad range.
Furthermore, reports by ANI and The Indian Express confirm that three people were killed in the Murshidabad violence by individuals identified as Kalu Nawab, Dildar Nawab, and Inzamam Ul Haque. Nowhere in these reports is there any mention of 150 accused giving their statements in Hindi.
