Amid the news reports of IRCTC will sell passenger data to get RS 1000 crore profit, many social media users are claiming that the Indian Railway is intending to shut down all railway ticket reservation counters.

On August 19, 2022, the Uttar Pradesh Congress’ Twitter account posted a headline from Navbharat Times claiming the closure of all ticket reservation counters. The UP Congress’s Twitter account slamming the BJP government, said that by closing the railway ticket counter, the Modi administration also intends to swallow the remaining jobs in the railway industry.

According to another news report by Zee Business, it claimed that The IRCTC is reportedly planning to shut down ticket counters soon. This plan would be implemented phase by phase.
