Fact Check

At the beginning of our research, we extracted different keyframes from the video and ran a reverse image search. With the help of reverse image we found an article on Puthiyathalaimurai. On translating the article into English, we found that the person seen in the video is not Bhajan Lal, but BJD MLA from Odisha, Bhupinder Singh.

According to the article, Bhupinder Singh is an MLA from Narla constituency in Kalahandi district of Odisha. On 25 December, a local cricket series was organized in his constituency belonging to the Janata Dal party. Bhupinder had gone there as a special guest to inaugurate the series. Then when he faced and played the ball, he unexpectedly stumbled and fell. In this Bhupinder Singh fell on the ground. Helpers saved him and he was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Apart from this, we also found a news report video from Kanak News. The video is titled, “BJD MLA Bhupinder Singh Injured While Testing Own Cricketing Skills In Narla.”

Conclusion: The person seen in the video is BJD MLA Bhupinder Singh, and not Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma. Therefore, the claim going viral is false.
