Old video of Shrikant Deshmukh
A video of a woman named Nirmala Yadav is going viral on social media. In this video, she is seen with a man named Shrikant Deshmukh in a hotel room. While recording the video, she alleges that Deshmukh is deceiving her. At one point in the video, Deshmukh is also seen trying to snatch away her mobile phone. This video is going viral with a claim that Shrikant Deshmukh, the BJP district president of Solapur has sexually harassed Nirmala Yadav.
Sharing the video, the handle Yadav Anoop wrote, “This is Nirmala Yadav accusing the BJP district president of Solapur, Shrikant Deshmukh, of sexual harassment, Watch how the BJP district president is assaulting a woman. This is the respect that BJP people talk about. Being a BJP member is itself proof of being characterless.” (archived link)

In our fact check research, we extracted keyframes from the viral video and ran a reverse image search. During this, we found an X post from RJD Maharashtra dated June 2022 which had the same video. The caption of the video says, “Women working in the BJP are becoming victims of BJP demons! Very important for women, Keep distance from BJP members! It is being said that, fed up with sexual harassment, BJP woman leader Nirmala Yadav herself exposed the lustful BJP leader Shrikant Deshmukh.”
Further, we searched the keywords related to this incident on Google and found a report by ABP Majha from June 2022. According to this report, the woman seen in the video is Nirmala Yadav who had made some serious allegations against the BJP District President of Solapur, Shrikant Deshmukh, in 2022. Nirmala said that Deshmukh had promised to marry her but he was deceiving her.
According to the woman, she and Shrikant had a long-standing relationship. This relationship started when she was working as a General Secretary with BJP Mumbai Yuva Morcha (Women Cell). After the video went viral, a case of sexual harassment and fraud was registered against Deshmukh and he also had to resign from District President post.
According to the NDTV report, Shrikant Deshmukh had filed a case of extortion against Nirmala Yadav and alleged that he was honey trapped. The police had booked Nirmala under section 384.
In conclusion, the video showing BJP’s former Solapur district president Shrikant Deshmukh with Nirmala Yadav in a hotel room where she is accusing him of deceiving her is actually from June 2022. However, this video is being shared as recent.
