A graphic from Bolta Hindustan has gone viral, claiming that Donald Trump stated India requested his help in mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan in exchange for dropping pending cases against Gautam Adani in the United States. Social media users sharing the image allege that Trump mediated in the recent India-Pakistan conflict to protect Adani.
Professor Arun Prakash Mishra claimed, ‘If Modi has the guts, he should say that this is wrong.’
Divya Kumari stated, ‘What a loyal servant Adani has kept with him.’
Harsh Goel wrote, ‘Scared of Trump. The stigma of ceasefire to the country for the sake of a friend, the great man who gives. He proved his bravery by conducting election rallies across the country. Heard stories and called himself a Vishwaguru.’
Manoj Yadav, Huma Meer, Ashish Yadav, Gems of Narendra, Sriram Sharma, Jay Sarraph, Amit Yadav, Andrew Smith and Chirag Patel shared a similar graphic image.

We began our fact-checking process by examining news reports relevant to the claim. Upon investigation, we found no credible report stating that former U.S. President Donald Trump claimed to have mediated the India-Pakistan war in order to protect Gautam Adani from pending legal cases in the United States.
While Donald Trump has repeatedly made unverified claims that he helped stop a war between India and Pakistan, a report by DD News dated May 10, 2026, clarifies the situation. According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan contacted his Indian counterpart at 15:35 IST. During their conversation, both sides agreed to halt all military operations on land, at sea, and in the air effective from 17:00 IST that same day. Misri added, “Instructions have been issued on both sides to implement this understanding,” and noted that the DGMOs of both nations would speak again on May 12 at 12:00 IST to review the situation.
Additionally, The Times of India report published on May 29, 2025, quoted Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar firmly denying claims that the United States played any significant role in brokering the ceasefire. He asserted that it was India’s strong military response that compelled Pakistan to halt hostilities.
This clearly indicates that the U.S., and by extension Donald Trump, played no role in mediating the conflict. The ceasefire was initiated only after India destroyed 9 terror bases followed by 11 Pakistani military airbases using BrahMos, SCALP, and HAMMER missiles, prompting Pakistan’s DGMO to reach out to India. There is no evidence linking Trump’s involvement to Gautam Adani’s legal matters, which are entirely unrelated to the ceasefire or the conflict.
Furthermore, we found an article by Bolta Hindustan, published on May 14, 2025, clarifying that the viral graphic circulating with their watermark is fake. In their statement, Bolta Hindustan explained that the original quote card featured Trump saying, “I threatened India and Pakistan, saying if you don’t stop the war, there will be no trade.”
However, the poster was later edited by mischievous elements to falsely include a quote about Adani: “In exchange for a ceasefire, a demand was made to withdraw all cases and arrest warrants against Adani.” The outlet clarified that they have no connection to this edited graphic and never published any such quote card. They also pointed out that their official graphics always carry a watermark and use a distinct black and light blue color scheme.
