The Adani Group is once again in the spotlight, not for its soaring profits, controversial Western media reports, or alleged smear campaigns by communist factions, but due to widespread social media buzz surrounding its latest venture into electric scooter manufacturing. Several news outlets have reported that Adani Green has unveiled an electric scooter boasting an impressive range of 280 kilometres on a single charge.
News portal TazaTimes News 24 published a report claiming, ‘Adani will launch a new electric scooter company under his company, Adani Green Energy. This scooter will be known as Adani Green Electric Scooter, which will be recognized for its remarkable range and speed.’

Our investigation began with a thorough search for information on reputable media outlets, as well as the official websites of the Adani Group and Adani Green. However, we found no credible reports or official statements corroborating claims that Adani Green is poised to launch electric scooters.
Continuing our investigation, we examined photos of the alleged Adani electric scooter circulated by the claimant’s media portal. Utilizing reverse image search, we discovered a Live Mint report from September 8, 2021, detailing the launch of Ola electric scooters. Notably, the images of the Ola scooter in the Live Mint report closely resemble those in the claimant’s report, with the key difference being that “Adani” is written on the back of the scooter in the latter.
Furthermore, we reviewed Adani Group’s initiatives in the green and electronic sectors. Recently, Gautam Adani announced the installation of 75,000 EV charging stations by 2030. Currently, all 50 of their sites are powered by rooftop solar panels, and their operations vehicle fleet, which covers 37 million kilometres annually, has completely switched from diesel to CNG. Additionally, through the ATGL Greenmosphere initiative, they have planted 220,000 trees, reducing CO2 emissions by 3,000 tons annually.
According to the Times of India, Adani Electricity announced on Tuesday that it has begun rolling out 8,500 shared electric vehicle (EV) chargers in 4,000 housing societies across Mumbai’s western and eastern suburbs, with 240 chargers already installed. The Economic Times reported that Adani Total Energies E-Mobility Ltd has received approval from the board of the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) to develop charging infrastructure for electric vehicles along four expressways in Uttar Pradesh.
The Hindu Business Line noted that Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Adani Total Energies E-Mobility Ltd (ATEL) to create an electric vehicle charging infrastructure across India. Additionally, Business Standard reported that electric motorcycle company Revolt Motors announced it has received an order from Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) to supply electric bikes for the renewable energy company’s corporate fleet.
Moreover, the Adani Green Renewables website also highlights their solar power projects, as well as wind and hybrid power generation initiatives.
In conclusion, the reports from Tazatimes News 24, The Social Khabar, Sarkari Jobs, and Times Bull are entirely unfounded and constitute fake news. Adani Green or Adani Electricity has not launched electric scooters. The claimant’s report misleadingly used images of Ola scooters, altering them to include the ‘Adani’ branding on the back.
