Mohammed Zubair, the Hinduphobic and fake news peddler who risked a woman’s life for reciting the quotes from Quran with his cropped video, and was nominated for the so-called Noble Prize, is back with another propaganda tweet showcasing his fact checking skills.

Bharat Jodo Yatra, an attempt by the Congress to revive Congress lost ground, has reached north India in December 2022. Rahul Gandhi has made some controversial and weird remarks throughout his three-month yatra, earning him condemnation.

Rahul Gandhi is currently on the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Punjab. On social media, a video of his public address from Bharat Jodo Yatra is going viral. In the viral video, Rahul Gandhi is seen discussing the farm laws brought by the government in 2019. The farm law sparked nationwide outrage, mostly in North India. Rahul refers to farmers as “Kaale Kissan” when talking about farm laws.

Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP IT cell, shared the viral video with a caption, “Black farmers? This is an insult to the farmers.” However, the fact checker, Zubair, defending Rahul Gandhi wrote, “By regularly sharing cropped video, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya is in a way pushing people to watch full videos of Rahul Gandhi. Not a good strategy by IT cell.”

Fact Check

We began our research by visiting the Indian National Congress party’s YouTube channel. Because all public rally meetings and speeches are published to the respective YouTube channels of each political party, our first priority was to search the Congress’s YouTube channel for the original video clip.

We discovered the original video on the Congress YouTube channel, which was from Rahul Gandhi’s speech in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. At 5:37 minutes into the original video, Rahul Gandhi is heard stating, “Jo kaale kisaan ke khilaaf kanoon aaye the, teen kanoon.” And he went on to add “Jo kisaan samajh gaya. Bilkul nahi, uske bare mein aap ne media mein dekha.”

He did say kaale kisaan in the original video. Probably a slip of the tongue, but Rahul did not care to correct himself.

Zubair would have wreaked havoc on Twitter if someone from the Bharatiya Janata Party had stated this. But, ironically, he is here trying his best to defend Rahul Gandhi.

In fact, in the video uploaded by Zubair in defense of Rahul Gandhi, he can be clearly heard saying “kaale kisaan”. But sticking firmly to his propaganda, the alleged fact checker chose to ignore this fact.
