However, adding fuel to the fire, a Pro-Congress Twitter user by the name of Deepesh Gupta shared the video, accompanied by a thought-provoking caption suggesting that the individuals in question were BJP supporter extremists engaged in weapon training in Manipur. Deepesh Gupta further questioned Prime Minister Modi about the source of these extremists’ access to highly dangerous weaponry such as 100-round fully automatic guns.
Moreover, by using hashtags like #ManipurViolence, #ManipurBurning, #ModiDisasterForIndia, and #Modi_Hatao_Desh_Bachao, Gupta implied that the PM and BJP supporters bore responsibility for the unrest in Manipur.
Apart from this, another Twitter handle named Rajeev Kumar shared the same viral video and made similar claims.

During our investigation, one of the first steps we took was to conduct a reverse search of the viral video in order to establish its authenticity and gather more information. It was during this process that we stumbled upon a Facebook post on a page called IDIBI Firearms, which featured the exact same video that had been circulating widely. However, what we discovered left us astounded. The video in question was actually posted approximately 9 months prior, on October 24, 2022. It came with a caption that humorously stated, “Full auto Friday, but it’s Monday though.”
Apart from this, we found that IDIBI Firearms is a South African-based company specializing in the sale of firearms and ammunition.
So, all these points prove that the viral video in question is neither connected to Manipur nor does it feature a BJP supporter from the region. Instead, it becomes abundantly clear that the video is approximately 9 months old, posted by a South Africa-based arms and ammunition company named IDIBI Firearms, devoid of any connection to the recent Manipur violence that commenced on May 3, 2023.
