Last week, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi successfully concluded his two-day visit to the United States, where he met with U.S. President Donald Trump, along with key figures from the U.S. administration, including Elon Musk and Tulsi Gabbard. In light of this, the Congress party and several social media users have now started claiming that Prime Minister Modi visited the United States uninvited to meet Donald Trump.

Congress leader Pawan Khera in his press conference said PM Modi went to the United States uninvited.

Pavan KN shared, ‘Narendra Modi wasn’t invited by Trump—he begged for the appointment and went to the US. All this to impress his Bhakts, but what did we get in return?  Handcuffs, chains, and reciprocal tariffs.’

Shruti stated, ‘Narendra Modi had gone to meet Donald Trump by appointment. The head of state of another ‍ country. Didn’t go on tour. Is this also a personal matter for Modi? If so, then who bore the expenses of petrol, accommodation, luxuries and change of clothes? The poor people of India?? People are still waiting for salvation after plunging into the dirty waters of Prayagraj. Why is it a world leader? Look at the overseas Indians imprisoned in Panama. Ego will go away.’

Prashant Kanojia, Vinod Sharma, Raju Parulekar, IP Singh and Deep Sankhla also shared a similar claim.

The article also quoted Trump, who told reporters aboard Air Force One in January, “He is going to be coming to the White House next month, probably in February. We have a very good relationship with India.”

Additionally, Reuters reported on February 3, 2025, “U.S. President Donald Trump has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the White House next week, a White House official said.”

Apart from The Hill and Reuters, both The Indian Express and DD News also confirmed that President Trump invited PM Modi to the United States for a bilateral meeting.

Following Modi’s visit, Elon Musk-led DOGE and Trump publicly revealed that $21 million in USAID funds, originally designated for “voter turnout in India,” had been allocated to the country. Trump went further, claiming that the funds were approved by the previous U.S. administration with the intention of toppling Modi’s government. This revelation has turned USAID into a heated topic, with opposition parties and left-liberals facing intense criticism from nationalists, the media, and the government.
