As the Telangana Assembly election draws closer, every political party is trying to establish its foothold in the state. Home Minister Amit Shah recently attended a campaign event in Telangana as part of the election campaign where he talked about ending the unconstitutional reservation in Telangana.
After his visit, the anti-Hindu propagandist and fact checker, Mohammed Zubair, known for dog whistling, recently tweeted a screenshot of Home Minister Amit Shah’s tweet. The tweet stated, “Let a BJP government be formed in Telangana, then we will abolish the unconstitutional reservation for Muslims.” Zubair while sharing the tweet wrote, “Muslim boldiya ab argument khatam.”
He tried to portray that the BJP as wanting to win the Telangana poll by employing anti-Muslim strategies to please the socially backward non-Muslim population there.
Another Islamist propagandist, Asif Khan, tweeting the video of Amit Shah from the rally event. He wrote “If BJP forms the govt, we’ll end Muslim reservation- Amit Shah.”
Did Amit Shah really meant to scrap the Muslim quota in Telangana. Lets fact check the claim.

We started our research with a keyword search “Amit shah visits Telangana” and came across a video by TV9 Telugu Live. The video 5:23:49 minutes long.
In the video, while addressing the crowd, Amit Shah, around 39 minutes, takes a jab at the KCR party in Telangana, saying that the welfare plan established by PM Modi is not reaching the needy. Additionally, he went on to say that the BJP will establish the government in Telangana with the majority of votes in the next election. In the state, injustice has been perpetrated against the youth, and incidents of paper leakage have occurred. The KCR has damaged the youth’s future.
Moreover, from the 47 minutes, he stated that minorities were given reservation in the 2bhk plan. Also, in the education field, Muslims were given reservations in an unconstitutional manner. Besides, he stated that if the BJP is elected, he will put a stop to the unlawful Muslim reservation.
Furthermore, now, let us find out what Amit Shah meant by the unconstitutional reservation and if the religion based reservation allowed in India. Article 15 of our Constitution prohibits discrimination based on caste, religion, language, or any other sectarian element; hence, no quota should be provided based on religion. However, Article 15 (a) and 16 (a) specifically talks about reservation. Moreover Article 16 (a) says state govt can give reservation on the basis of the backward class.
As a result, the religious reservation granted to the Muslim minority in the state of Telangana is discriminatory and unlawful. Thus, the BJP aims to put a stop to the societal injustices that other religious communities endure in Telangana.
Moreover, it is amusing that the fact checker, who is a devout follower and believer in the Indian constitution, is now objecting to something that is unprovisional under the Indian constitution. People like him cite democracy and constitution as per their convenience. In the past too, Zubair has advocated a hijab citing the constitution.
In their tweets, propagandists Zubair and Asif avoided the word “unconstitutional” and jumped to conclude that the BJP is using anti-Muslim strategy to please the non-Muslims there.
