Exposed: Terrorist Sympathizers’ False Claim of Indian Army’s Mass Rape in Poonch

Last Thursday in the Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir, a tragic incident unfolded as a group of terrorists ambushed two Indian Army vehicles, resulting in the loss of at least five brave soldiers, while three others were injured. This heartbreaking attack took place at a treacherous spot known as Dhatyar Morh, nestled between the areas of Dera ki Gali (DKG) and Bulfiaz, when the vehicles were suddenly bombarded with heavy gunfire while navigating a blind curve.

However, amidst this cowardly and malicious assault, there’s another troubling issue emerging. Those who support these terrorists have begun spreading false information, trying to mislead people with fake news, aiming to distract from the gravity of this heinous attack on our soldiers.

In our investigation, we couldn’t find any proof or reports backing the claims of mass rape by the Indian Army circulating on social media. However, we did come across a report by Amar Ujala, published on December 22, 2023, detailing recent events. According to this report, in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, a distressing incident occurred on Thursday at 3:45 pm. Heavily armed terrorists ambushed two army vehicles in the Bafliaz area, resulting in the loss of five soldiers and injuring two others.

During the attack, the terrorists threw grenades and fired indiscriminately, leading to tragic consequences. Additionally, the bodies of two soldiers were mutilated, intensifying the brutality of the assault. The Pakistan-backed People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) claimed responsibility for this horrifying attack.

Continuing our investigation, we stumbled upon another report from ABP Live, released on December 23, 2023. This report shed light on the rising tension in the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri following the alleged deaths of three individuals during Army interrogations that occurred after the tragic loss of five soldiers in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

Consequently, the government swiftly announced compensation and job opportunities for the families of those who lost their lives. Additionally, legal actions have been set in motion by the appropriate authorities to address this matter seriously.

Moreover, in an effort to curb the spread of rumors and prevent potential disruptions to law and order, mobile internet services have been suspended in both districts. To closely monitor the situation and ensure stability, senior administrative and police officials have stationed themselves in the area.

After this, we decided to seek insights from the Official Account of the Information & PR Department, Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, on X. During this, we discovered a tweet dated December 23, 2023. In this tweet, they reported the unfortunate death of three civilians in Baffliaz of Poonch District. The necessary medical and legal procedures were carried out, and the appropriate authorities have taken action in this regard. Additionally, the government has announced compensation for the families of each deceased individual. Furthermore, compassionate appointments have been promised to the next of kin of the deceased, providing support during this difficult time.

Continuing our exploration, we delved into the official handle of the Additional Directorate General of Public Information, Indian Army, and stumbled upon a tweet from December 23, 2023. In this tweet, they stated, Terrorist Initiated Incident at Bafliaz in Poonch-Rajouri Sector (21/ 22 Dec 23). Search operations by the Security Forces are continuing in the area of operations after the incident of 21 Dec 23. Reports have been received regarding three civilian deaths in the area. The matter is under investigation. Indian Army stands committed to extending full support and cooperation in the conduct of investigations.

Hence, in light of these detailed findings, it’s evident that the allegations of mass rapes by the Indian army in Poonch are entirely baseless and false. The sole purpose behind the spread of this misinformation by terrorist sympathizers seems to be to divert attention from the brutal and cowardly attack carried out by terrorists on our brave soldiers.

The internet shutdown in Poonch and Rajouri isn’t due to any incidents of mass rape. Instead, it’s a precautionary measure taken to curb the spread of false rumors and prevent potential disruptions to law and order. These sympathizers of terrorists are vigorously attempting to create chaos, and this shutdown aims to counteract their efforts, ensuring stability and safety in the region.
