On November 10, 2025, a tragic car bomb explosion occurred in the Red Fort area of Delhi, killing approximately 10 people and injuring 25 to 30. The same day, in a major joint operation by the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana police resulted in the discovery of a large cache of explosives and arms from an apartment in Faridabad. The discovery included 360 kilograms of ammonium nitrate along with 2,900 kilograms of improvised explosive device (IED) materials, such as wire, detonators, chemicals, batteries, remote controls, timers, and other bomb-making equipment.

The prime accused arrested in this case is Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganai, a doctor from Pulwama who was working at Al-Falah University near Dhauj, Faridabad. He had rented flat in Faridabad to store explosives and weapons, from where he was arrested. Muzammil’s arrest led to the arrests of two other doctors, Adeel Majeed and Shaheen Shahid. Reports states that a total of eight persons have been arrested so far in connection with this, and their roles are being investigated.

Meanwhile, a claim is going viral on social media alleging that it was not explosive, but firecrackers that were uncovered in Faridabad at Muzammil’s house. To support this claim, users are attaching a post by the Faridabad police stating that media reports claiming explosive materials were found in Faridabad are not true. Sharing the Faridabad’s police post, the handle Uzma Parveen wrote that the news circulated by some media outlets claiming that 300 kg of RDX was found in Faridabad was misleading. The so-called RDX turned out to be firecrackers used in weddings. (Archived link)

Another handle, Firoj, stated, “Since yesterday, the same news has been repeatedly shown by the godi media: 300 kg of RDX recovered from the house of a Muslim doctor in Faridabad. Some hate mongers are also targeting Muslims. When the Haryana Police investigated, it turned out that this was not RDX at all, but rather gunpowder for making ordinary firecrackers. It has no connection with the Delhi attack. The reality of the Delhi blast will soon come out before everyone. So far, no terrorist attack has been reported by the police. Those who are spreading false news to defame Muslims, will they be able to make amends when the truth comes out?” (Archived link)

The claim was also shared by other handles like such as Millat Times journalists Shams Tabrez Ansari (Archived link), Kavish Aziz (Archived link), Wasim Akram Tyagi (Archived link), Nargis Bano (Archived link), Saad Ansari (Archived link), Dr. Meraj Hussain (Archived link), Mohd Sameer (Archived link), and Uved Muazzam (Archived link).

In our fact-check research, we found that on November 10, 2025, in a joint operation at the flat of Dr. Muzammil Ahmad in Dhauj, Faridabad, the Jammu & Kashmir Police, along with the Haryana Police, uncovered 360 kilograms of ammonium nitrate and 2,900 kilograms of material used in making IEDs.

After this recovery, the police learned about another location of Muzammil, which was in Fatehpur Taga village of Faridabad. The accused had rented a house there as well. During the raid, 2,563 kilograms of explosives were uncovered.

Following two explosives seizures in Faridabad, police are conducting ongoing searches. According to the report, on November 11, 2025, Haryana Police recovered 50 to 60 kilograms of explosive material in Sector 56, Faridabad. The Crime Branch arrested two suspects. However, police later clarified that the recovered material was not explosives, but raw material for firecrackers used in weddings. It has no connection to terrorist activities in Faridabad.
