In Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, following the devastating terror attack which claimed the lives of 26 tourists, tensions between India and Pakistan have significantly escalated. The situation appears to be very volatile. Amidst this, a claim is rapidly going viral on social media stating that the Indian Air Force, while trying to bomb Pakistan, accidentally dropped a bomb on its own civilians in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh.

Fact check

In our fact-check research, we searched for related keywords and found a report by the Economic Times dated April 25.

According to the report, in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, a non-explosive aerial store was inadvertently dropped from an Indian Air Force aircraft onto the house of a man named Manoj Sagar. Two rooms of his house were completely damaged, and debris fell in the car parking area. At the time of the incident, four people were present in the house. Fortunately, none of the family members were injured and no casualties were reported. The incident is being investigated further.

We also found an X post by the Indian Air Force, where they expressed regret and wrote, “The IAF regrets the damage caused today to property on ground, near Shivpuri, by the inadvertent drop of a non-explosive aerial store from an IAF aircraft, and has instituted an inquiry into the incident.”

In conclusion, in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, where a heavy object from an Indian Air Force aircraft fell on a house, no casualties or injuries were reported. Two rooms of the house and the parking area were damaged.
