Bangladesh’s Video of Muslim Woman Hit by Man Falsely Attributed to India

A video showing a burqa clad woman being hit by a man and collapsing is going viral on social media. Many users have attributed the video to voilence against Muslim in India, while several other users have alleged that the video is from Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh.

A user named Sam Subhana wrote, “This video is from April 2025, and it shows an incident that took place in the Manpur Fatak area of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. The girl seen in it is named Farheen, who is from the Muslim community. She was in a relationship with a Hindu young man. That’s why her family members beat her. If the girl had been Hindu, her family members would have reacted the same way.” (Archived link)

Another Pakistan-linked account Sana Yousafzai asserted, “Muslims in India continue to suffer and face hardships in every way of their lives under the current face!st BJP/RSS regime. In the clip, a Muslim woman was slapped and beaten by a Hindu.” (Archived link)

Samajwadi Party worker Parmanand Azamgarhi stated, “Sanatani people are mistreating women of other religions, especially Muslim women, and no action is being taken against these people. The Constitution grants equality to everyone.”

PIC remarked, “Assault on a Muslim woman in broad daylight! What is happening in #India today is no longer mere “individual excesses” but an institutional trend that widens day after day, in which extremists assault Muslims while the violations pass without real punishment. And the painful part is that there are at least 3 (men) Muslims watching without intervening! And this sums up the scale of fear and pressure that Muslims there have come to live with.” (Archived link)

Fact Check

In our fact-check research, in the video we noticed an advertisement board behind the woman with a text written in Bengali script. Upon translating it, we found that it read ‘Madrasatul Ihsan’ and mentioned ‘in the academic year 2024’ ahead of it.

On Google, we searched Madrasatul Ihsan and found that, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, there is an educational institution of the same name. Additionally, we also search for Madrasatul Ihsan with a keyword India, but the results indicated that there is no famous institution with this name in India. The only well-known found through the search is located in Bangladesh.

Further, in the claimed video, we noticed a vehicle passing by with ‘JAC Motors’ and ‘Energypac’ written on it.

Jac motors and Energypac written on the vehivle

JAC Motors is a state-owned Chinese automobile and commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Hefei. Their vehicles are not available in India. Energypac, a Bangladeshi company, is the sole distributor of JAC Motors. Upon closer inspection, the number plate of the vehicle also appears to be inscribed in Bengali script, although it is indecipherable.

In conclusion, the viral video of Muslim woman being hit by a man is not from India. The video is clearly from Bangladesh, hence, the claims falsely attributing the video to India are false.
