In the first step of our research we did the keyword search in Hindi and English and came across a report by Dainik Bhaskar. In the picture used for representation the pandit is wearing the same color dhoti-kurta as shown in the viral video.

As per the report the incident is from April, 2020, Haryana. The four youths had assaulted the priest with a cricket bat. The report says that the priest did not allow the boys to keep the bat in the temple. So, in a fit of rage, the guy mercilessly thrashed him with a cricket bat.

In addition, an independent news media, Falana Dikhana, debunks the claim of priest molesting the girl in one of their report. According to their investigation, the priest is Kailash Sharma.

Besides, the Falana Dikhana team contacted the village head. Also, they discovered that the molestation claims leveled against the priest were false. The youths who severely thrashed the priest have denied the claims of molestation.

When the event occurred in 2020, numerous media outlets reported that the priest was obscenely talking to a girl on the phone call. However, it was the boys who had taken a 7-8 months audio tape from the priest’s cell phone.

Moreover, in the audio, the priest was talking to his girlfriend and discussing their marriage. The audio was wrongly circulated everywhere while accusing priest of molesting the girl.

Further, the girl and the people of the village denied the allegations. The villagers said that youths had thrashed the priest due to their personal grudge.

According to the actual incident, youths used the temple where Kailash was appointed as a priest to hide their belongings. They put their cricket equipment inside the temple one day. The priest locked the temple and walked 10 kilometers away.

Seeing the temple door locked, the four boys broke the lock and took away their belongings. When confronted by the priest, they brutally thrashed him with an anti-Brahmin insult. Later, the police arrested them.
