The pro-Congress account on Twitter, Shantanu (Archive link), shared a video in which it can be seen that the two women are fighting with each other. Meanwhile, a woman tears the BJP poster on the wall, which had the picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP President JP Nadda.
When tweeting the video, Shantanu stated that an angry kid had a fight with her parents and tore up the BJP and Modi posters because of the latter’s recent comparison of I.N.D.I.A to the Indian Mujahideen.
As the 2024 election drew near, the opposition parties banded together under the name Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) to challenge the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is led by the BJP. Amidst the alliance. However, PM Modi launched a counteroffensive on Tuesday, claiming that the East India Company and outlawed groups like the Indian Mujahideen and the Popular Front of India also have the term “India” in their names.

We extracted keyframes from the video and performed a reverse image search, which led us to the Facebook post (Post link) by the media panelist of Indian National Congress (INC). The post is dated 19 April 2022. Sharing the video, Pankhuri wrote, “If the new generation understands that their future is getting worse, then what happened in this house will happen in every house.”
Furthermore, we did a keyword search in Hindi and English, and found an article by Jansatta dated April 20, 2022. The article talks about the same video which was going viral in 2022, and the speculations around it. But it doesn’t give much information about where the video came from and the context behind the fight.
Apart from this, we also tried to find out from our end where the video originated in the first place and what is the reason behind the fight, but we could not get any additional information. However, as per the information above, the video is not recent. Hence, Shantanu’s claim that the girl tore the BJP poster after the PM compared I.N.D.I.A with Indian Mujahideen is misleading.
