Fact Check

As the claim seems to be suspicious, our team conducted a research. While researching, we discovered that the viral video is from Bolivia by conducting a reverse image search over the keyframes of the video.

As per the report published on August 12, 2022 by Spanish news websites Bolivision TV and Notigram, the viral video in the report was attributed to an incident in Bolivia.

By digging more into the matter we came across the Spanish language news program Al Rojo Vivo. By translating the Spanish caption, we found that the video is from Bolivia, and as per the report of Al Rojo Vivo there was a dispute between coca farmers (Coffee producers) and the authorities. During the protest, a farmer tried to hurl dynamite at the police, however, dynamite accidentally exploded in his hands, causing serious injuries.

The incident in the video took place at La Paz, Bolivia on August 10, 2022. The Bolivian coca farmers were protesting in the parallel coca market. During the protest, dynamite exploded in the hand of the 30-year-old protestor. He suffered serious injurious and lost his left arm.

Hence, the viral video is from Bolivia, and no such incident took place in Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore, the claim is fake.
