A video showing a street food vendor, adorned with red tilak on his forehead, rolling dough on his bare stomach to prepare flatbread is being shared on social media with a few claims suggesting that this unhygienic street food set up belongs to a stall owned by a Brahmin and reveals the so-called truth behind clean and sattvic food.

Fact Check

In the viral clip, a man can be seen rolling out dough with a rolling pin. However, upon closer inspection, we observed several inconsistencies.

Notably, the rolling pin itself gets covered with dough and inadvertently takes the shape of the bread, which the man briefly dips into the hot oil. After this, he places an actual piece of bread into the oil and is later seen taking it out with his bare hands. These discrepancies clearly indicate that the viral clip is not real.

Next, we performed AI detection of the clip using Hive moderation tool. The detection confirmed that the clip was entirely AI-generated.

In conclusion, the clip showing a Brahmin street food vendor preparing food unhygienically by rolling dough on his bare stomach does not depict any real-life incident. The clip is AI-generated.
