Fact Check

In our fact check, we performed a reverse image search on keyframes from the viral video. During this process, we found a similar video on a YouTube channel named Heru Bakmal, where a structure resembling the one in the viral video was being demolished. The caption of this video mentioned the location as Hibisc Fantasy Puncak.

The video of demolition is from Hibisc Fantasy Puncak in Indonesia.

We then searched for Hibisc Fantasy Puncak on Google and found that it is a tourist site in Indonesia.

Apart from this, we found another demolition video on a different YouTube channel, March 9, which showed structures of a theme park being demolished. At 2 minutes and 49 seconds, we found a frame showing the same structure being torn down by a bulldozer.

The description of this video was in the Bahasa language, which, when translated, stated:
“Kang Dedi Mulyadi’s steps to overcome flooding: restoring forest function as a water catchment area and not littering.”

Taking hints from all this, we then conducted a keyword search and found a CNBC report. In this report, we found an exact keyframe matching the one from the second video in our fact check. We also discovered that this theme park is Hibisc Fantasy Puncak, which is located in Indonesia.

The Hibisc Fantasy Puncak was demolished because it was built on land allocated for tea plantation.

According to this report, Hibisc Fantasy Puncak is built on land owned by PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN), a state-owned plantation company.

The demolition of the Hibisc Fantasy Puncak tourist site was primarily due to violations of spatial planning regulations and environmental concerns. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi ordered the demolition of 25 unauthorized buildings in the theme park after it was found that the construction exceeded the permitted area and was built on land designated for tea plantations.

Additionally, this development was linked to exacerbating recent flash floods in the area, which prompted immediate action to prevent further environmental degradation.

In conclusion, the video of the demolition of mosque-like structure in an Indonesian theme park was falsely attributed to India with claims that an illegal mosque was bulldozed.
