The Canadian government has alleged that Indian Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah is behind a plot targeting Sikh separatists on Canadian soil. Canadian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister David Morrison testified before a parliamentary committee and acknowledged that he had leaked Shah’s name to the U.S.-based newspaper, The Washington Post, which initially reported the allegations.

The Washington Post reported that Canadian security agencies had collected evidence of the Indian government’s involvement in attacks on Sikh separatists in Canada. The report also noted that the Canadian government had identified Minister Shah as the senior Indian government official implicated in the accusation.

However, while appearing before the Public Safety and National Security Committee, Morrison did not disclose how Canada learned of Shah’s alleged involvement. In response to Canada’s accusations alleging Shah’s role in targeting Khalistanis, the Indian government responded by calling them “extremely weak” and “flimsy.” The Indian government has previously called the accusations from the Canadian government as baseless and absurd.

Amidst this, several handles on X, mostly based in Pakistan, are circulating a graphic claiming that India’s Home Minister, Amit Shah, was recently added to Interpol’s wanted list after Canada’s Deputy Foreign Minister accused him of authorizing killing operations against Canadian Sikh nationals.

The Pakistan Telegraph wrote, “Credible sources have informed that Indian Home Minister Amit Shah has recently been added to Interpol’s wanted list. Shah is in hot waters after Canada’s Deputy Foreign Minister accused him of authorizing killing operations against Canadian Sikh nationals.”

The graphic was also shared by several other handles, including Lailatweets, Leyla, and Islamabad Insider.
