Additionally, the Aam Aadmi Party’s official Twitter account released a video of AAP MLA Atishi Marlena giving a press conference with the caption “Pressure is being placed on CBI personnel to issue Arrest Warrant against Manish Sisodia Ji. So much pressure was put by the central government that a CBI officer even committed suicide. PM Modi is misusing the central investigative agencies to topple the state governments.”

The claim appeared suspicious, so our team looked into it to check its accuracy. Probing the claim further, we discovered the press statement by CBI. According to the press release, the CBI strongly disagreed with Manish Sisodia’s assertion and deemed it false. The CBI made it clear that the death of the late CBI officer Jitendra Kumar had nothing to do with the Manish Sisodia inquiry. He was the Deputy Legal Advisor who was supervising the case which was already charge-sheeted in Delhi. Besides, the Late CBI officer has not held anyone responsible for his demise in his suicide note.

Consequently, according to the Times Of India report, a Senior Official of Delhi police had said that “a suicide note was retrieved and he hasn’t mentioned anyone’s name and no specific reason behind his suicide”. The officer added that “he was going through mental stress and depression and wanted to quit as mentioned in the suicide note.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker also stated that “a suicide note was found from CBI officer Jitendra Kumar’s house and no one was blamed in that suicide note.”

The Delhi Police on Monday said, “a preliminary investigation has been conducted into the suicide of the CBI officer, who was found hanging in his residence, as well as the post-mortem report does not indicate any foul play.”

On Times Now Navbharat, Jyoti Thakur wife of the Late CBI officer Jitendra Kumar said that her husband had decided to leave work in the month of February because of the workload. At that time Manish Sisodia’s case was not even in light.
