On January 28, Zakir Tyagi, a propaganda journalist for News Click, stated in a tweet that Afsana, a resident of Sumbulpur village in the Jaunpur district, was molested by three local residents. In addition, he blamed the police and stated that they were trying to cover up the rape case against Dalit men.
Another Twitter user, Yasir Pathan, gave the matter a communal angle, saying that the three local residents kidnapped and raped the Muslim woman at night. According to the victim, the men secluded her house. Moreover, they had warned her that they will not allow a single Muslim to live in the village.

We started our research with a keyword search to know the whole story. However, we could not find any authentic report regarding this matter.
Since the matter was related to Jaunpur, our team then tried to get the statements of Uttar Pradesh and the district police. We came across the statement by Jaunpur police on Twitter.
The statement says Afsana filed a fake rape case against Satya, Hriday, and Badal over a petty argument. However, her allegations of rape were not confirmed at the time of the investigation.
Furthermore, Satya and Hriday, who are related, own a farm on which they raise crops. Afsana keeps ducks at her residence, and they frequently ruin the crops on their farm. On January 23, they went to damage the crops, resulting in a confrontation between the two parties.
Since Satya and his relatives belong to the SC/ST community, Afsana feared that they might file a case against her. So, she went to file a fake rape case against those Dalit men.
Thus, the claim that Zakir Tyagi and Twitter user Yasir have made is misleading. Afsana filed a fake rape case against Dalit men.
In recent years, there have been several cases of heinous crimes against women. By 2021, the crime rate against women rose by 15%. However, women like Afsana often misuse the law by falsely accusing men of rape in order to exact personal retribution.
